About the Artist Judy Napangardi Watson was born at Yarungkanji, Mt Doreen Station, and was taught to paint by her elder sister, Maggie Napangardi Watson. Painting alongside her at Warlukurlangu Artists, Judy developed a distinctive style and became a leading figure in the movement towards more abstract interpretations of Jukurrpa (Dreaming stories) in Warlpiri art. Her work retains strong cultural and spiritual connections to country, song, and sacred places. Since 1990, Judy's artworks have been exhibited throughout Australia and internationally, with works held in numerous major collections.
