Featuring Jilinybeng and Jardang (Bush Cucumber and Spinifex Grass) artwork by Peggy Griffiths, this set of two scrunchies celebrates the seasonal plants of her Country. The artwork depicts bush cucumber intertwined with spinifex grass, both of which emerge during the wet season.
When rain falls, spinifex grass releases a distinctive eucalyptus-like aroma. Traditionally, spinifex was used by women as a form of bush medicine, including contraception, and was also burned to help repel mosquitoes.
