Featuring Jilamara Design artwork by an Australian Aboriginal artist, this beautiful pot holder celebrates the cultural traditions of the Tiwi Islands. During ceremonies, a series of Yoi dances are performed, with participants painted in turtiyanginari (natural ochres). These ceremonial designs transform and protect dancers from mapurtiti (spirits), and are collectively known as Jilamara.
Combining practical functionality with meaningful cultural storytelling, this pot holder brings contemporary Indigenous Australian art into the heart of the home.
