How did we achieve the nostalgic aroma of baked damper and dampened fire in this velvety brew? We harvest the Daintree black tea fresh from Far North Queensland before droving the batch down to the bush capital of Australia. There, we smoulder the leaves over crackling redgum to obtain that classic campfire taste. An egalitarian rendition of smoky tea that’s bound to join the ranks of traditional favourites like Lapsang Souchong and Russian Caravan.
Specifically, whereas the above smoky teas are typically made with pinewood, we use evocative redgum chips (eucalyptus camaldulensis). This river redgum grows on the banks of billabongs across Australia. This is yet another way that our Botanical Tea collection truly encompasses Australia and its flora. Prefer eco-friendly tea bags?
