Sundry native Australian berries and leaves come together to form this perfect iced tea sip for a sundrenched day. The Tea Centre is proud to include Davidson’s Plum & Rosella herbal tea in our Australian Botanical Tea collection, sourced from the most pristine place on earth…home.
This herbal tea brews up childhood memories of ox-blood iron roofs, chittering rosellas, and tasty stonefruit plucked fresh from the backyard. Some like it hot while others prefer it iced; you’ll love it either way. Moreover, take solace in this tea’s quintessential quartet of native flora. Specifically, this tea contains rosella, Gulbarn, strawberry gum, and Davidson’s Plum. Expect woodsy top notes and intense fragrance from Tablelands strawberry gum and tart flavour from Queensland wild hibiscus (rosella). There’s also thirst-quenching plummy sweetness and wholesomeness from gulbarn: the Alawa word for the ancient melaleuca citrolens myrtle.
We source our gulbarn from the Alawa people of the Northern Territory, who harvest this particular myrtle for its healing properties. One study suggests that drinking gulbarn as tea may soothe colds and ease digestion thanks to its phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity.
