This Tutankhamun Sarcophagus pin badge is made from metal and is a raised high definition 3D image of Tutankhamun’s gold sarcophagus. It is supplied on a pin with separate clasp. The pin badge is mounted on an information card, which has images of a wadjet eye pectoral with hieroglyphics down the sides on the front and describes about fine jewellery in ancient Egyptian times on the reverse.
Some of the most common jewellery in ancient Egypt were amulets and charms designed to protect the wearer from mysterious and hostile forces.
The finest jewellery was worn only by the king and the royal family, the court and temple priests. The court and temples were therefore the main employers of goldsmiths and most of the gold that was produced was held in the king’s treasury.
