Roasted Chestnuts
The start of the colder months for Italians marks the beginning of Castagne season! You can smell wafts of roasted chestnuts throughout the day and night and at all local festivals.

There's something magical about burning your fingers impatiently trying to open up a hot roasted chestnut shell and munching on a warm, soft - yet crumbly nut!  In Italy this tradition is called Castagnata and the festivals are a tribute to the Italians who survived World War II by gathering chestnuts and turning them into bread after their corn and grain fields were bombed. 

Our Castagne candle is a little different to the other candles in our collection as we were able to import a natural organic chestnut essential oil. The scent of warm, buttery chestnuts comes through gradually when being burned. 

It is the perfect warm and cosy candle to light on a cold night at home.
