The community of Ampilatwatja made a conscious decision not to paint ‘altyerr’ dreaming stories. The artists paint their country where those stories sit. This detailed work shows the layered landscape of Alyawarr, Central Australia. Rosie as painted, “tarrkarr”, trees which you get ‘sugar-bag’ from. ‘Sugar-bag’ is a sweet honey made by native bees that live in these trees.
