The Hi Sun grows up to 1.2m tall and is ideal as a bee attracting border, and to provide a wind break and much needed shade for some of your summer crops. It also produces good yields of high quality sunflower seeds for snacking.
When to Plant:
Zone 1: August - January
Zone 2: August - January
Zone 3: Anytime
Zone 4: Anytime
Soil: Sunflowers will grow in most soil types, but will prefer well drained soil that is prepared with compost
Soil pH Level: 6.5 - 7.5
Position: Full sun, with protection from wind. Sunflowers are tall plants that will cast a shadow, so position accordingly.
How to Plant:
Spacing: 20cm - 30cm
Depth: 1cm - 3cm
Companion Plants: Cucumber, Melon, Squash & Sweetcorn
Approximate no. of seeds: 15-20
