Product Description: This 7cm long Egyptian hippo is made from resin that is painted blue and the body is hand painted with lotus plants in black. The hippopotamus is in a side profile and has a magnet attached to the reverse side.
Information: In Ancient Egypt the goddess Tauret was represented as a woman with the head of a hippopotamus. She was worshipped as a protective deity and as a symbol for female fertility.
Blue Hippopotamus statuettes decorated with plants were placed in tomb and temples to help the deceased be successfully reborn into the afterlife.
