Murrbay yili is the figtree’s leaf in Gathang. Murrbay is a sacred tree, the grandmother tree - a protector and a provider. The designs of this piece are inspired by the patterns of Country. Studying the Murrbay yili, the different colours of its underbelly, its shape and its form, connects me to my Country.
