Approaching storm front, Outback, South Australia, Australia
I'm often amazed at how quickly weather changes. As I took this photo, it was calm and behind me it was blue sky and sunny. Yet moments after I took this photo and made the mad dash back to the car, I was subjected to incredibly strong winds and heavy rain as this storm front came through. The dry desert around me quickly became submerged under water with flash flooding the result. The wind was so strong that further up the road from this location, large high tension power lines and poles were brought down and the floodwaters so deep and current so strong that I was unable to return to my night's accommodation, instead having to seek refuge at a nearby pub for the night. It is times like these though where I feel lucky to have had my camera at hand to capture such amazing weather in action.
Acrylic desk blocks give the photo a three dimensional look and make excellent gifts. They are perfect for desks, bookshelves, and mantelpieces.
Each photo is printed on professional grade metallic photographic paper, using archival inks. It is then mounted on the back of an acrylic (plexiglass) block. It is finished with diamond polishing, buffing and a final hand polish.
Since they are free-standing, no hanging system is required.
